Jeeze what's with the Trib? He left over a month ago.

Me and Jer loved the same things. :) :) I still have a cd of his: a somewhat new medium...WORD JAZZ. Found it next to 2000 Years with Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner. Yay.

I wonder if any rappers got into him?

I don't know much about but I think there were rap groups in the 90s that had jazz influences. Maybe there was an intersect there. Who knows. On we go.

My brother remembers the Levi's commercial.
'The island ya get... is the island ya got.' Love it.

I can't believe I'm wasting my time on this - the Internet is evil.

"As the voice behind the hugely influential hip-hop duo Gang Starr, Guru not only was a key figure in the burgeoning New York hip-hop scene of the late 80s and early 90s, but his seminal debut Jazzmatazz Vol. 1 was instrumental in helping to bridge the gap between hip-hop and jazz."

Title song on my cd: Faces In The Jazzamatazz.

Ok. I'm pretty sure that's what I got but in a later iteration. I think Rhino got their paws on it. I'm going to rip this sucker and put it on my phone. Back to the 60s I go Mr. Peabody.
